about patch’s sanctuary
Patch’s Animal Sanctuary is a not for profit sanctuary for farm animals and wildlife, where domesticated and wild animals can live together safely and happily.
We currently have 21 cows at the sanctuary who are of different ages and backgrounds. Some have been saved as young animals when they were weeks or less away from slaughter, others are old cows who have had numerous calves and would also been sent to the saleyards, being too old or in too poor a condition to raise further calves. All can now live a long and happy life free roaming.
Our cow story began with Patch. Patch was rescued when she was 6 months old on her way to the saleyards. She had survived against the odds without ever knowing her mother. It’s not possible to save all the animals from being slaughtered, but we believe that even saving one life is very significant, and worthwhile.
Wybelena Farm was purchased specifically for Patch, but soon, others would join her.
As well as cows Patch's Sanctuary has also been home to many dogs over the years, many of them working dog breeds which were rescued from farms, after their services were no longer needed. Our mission is to also take in farm dogs and find comfortable homes for them in their retirement.
This is Patch - the individual who inspired the sanctuary to begin.

domestic animals
Domestic animals play a major role in everyday life and at Patch’s Animal Sanctuary – all animals are equal. They are all loved and respected and given the care they deserve. Our sanctuary is a refuge for many domestic and farm animals, and with your help, we can give more animals a happy and healthy life.
wildlife
As well as grazing land, Patch’s Animal Sanctuary contains vital koala habitat. We want to ensure that this habitat remains intact, so we are working with other charities and government bodies to improve and enhance existing habitats. Your donation will also help this vital work for wildlife.
